Deepak Sirwani is an Assistant Professor in the Marketing & Behavioural Science Division at the UBC Sauder School of Business, University of British Columbia. He holds a PhD and MS in Marketing from Cornell University's SC Johnson College of Business, and a BTech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. His research focuses on numerical cognition, time perception, moral psychology, and decision making, with work published in the Journal of Marketing Research.
Before academia, he served as a founding team member at OYO Rooms, scaling it to a global hospitality chain, and worked as an Intellectual Property Law Consultant. He has received numerous awards including the UBC Hampton New Faculty Grant (2024) and SC Johnson Doctoral Fellowship (2018–2023).
His teaching includes courses like Consumer Behaviour and Marketing Management. He has presented at top conferences such as the Society for Consumer Psychology Annual Meeting and Association for Consumer Research events, and his research explores topics like rating formats' impact on consumer judgments and time perception's role in decision-making.
