Dr. Declan Kuch is a Vice-Chancellor’s Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Culture and Society at Western Sydney University. His work focuses on the sociological dimensions of knowledge, emerging technologies, and climate/energy transitions. He holds a PhD from the University of New South Wales (2012), along with a BA (Honours) and BA SocSc from UNSW and Macquarie University.
His research spans three core areas: (1) social license for energy technologies via collaborations with the International Energy Agency, (2) ethics of technology through projects like Economies of Virtue, and (3) creativity and democracy through the Lively Labs initiative. He has consulted for the Australian Council of Learned Academies on science engagement.
