Deborah White is a Professor in the Sociology & Criminal Justice Department at Minnesota State University Moorhead. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the State University of New York, Albany. Her research focuses on women’s political leadership, political sociology, and gender studies. She has coordinated the Tri-College National Education for Women’s Leadership Development Institute since 2001.

Her research interests include women’s representation in elective offices, quantitative methods, and the sociology of sexualities. She has received multiple awards, including the YWCA Women of the Year Award (2008) and academic excellence awards for service (2005, 2007).
