Deborah Strickland

Deborah Strickland is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the UWA Medical School, affiliated with the UWA Centre for Child Health Research and the Kids Research Institute Australia. Her research focuses on immunological mechanisms in respiratory diseases, particularly asthma and influenza, as well as pediatric immune responses. She contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to good health and well-being.

Her work integrates experimental models (e.g., mouse models) to study viral infections and bacterial colonization in the airways. Key areas include dendritic cell function, interferon responses, and the development of novel therapies for otitis media and influenza complications.
