Debbie Kasper

Debbie Kasper is a Professor of Environmental Studies at Hiram College. She holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Pennsylvania State University and teaches courses integrating environmental studies with sociological theory, including Human Settlements, Sociology of Food, and Permaculture. As Howard S. Bissell Chair of Liberal Arts, she coordinates the annual Bissell Symposium. Her research focuses on community resilience, environmental sociology, and social change frameworks. She actively contributes to campus sustainability initiatives and ecological/social health strategies. Kasper holds certifications in permaculture design and meditation instruction.
