Dean Edwards

Dr. Dean Edwards is Professor of Molecular & Cellular Biology and Pathology & Immunology at Baylor College of Medicine. His NIH-funded research program investigates progesterone receptor structure-function relationships and signaling mechanisms in mammary development and breast cancer progression.

Key discoveries include elucidating RANKL-mediated crosstalk between progesterone receptors and Stat5 transcription factors, and characterizing conformational dynamics in receptor activation. His laboratory employs advanced biophysical methods including hydrogen-deuterium exchange mass spectrometry and crystallography.

Dr. Edwards holds leadership roles as Executive Director of Advanced Technology Cores and Associate Director for Research Infrastructure at the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center.
