Dawn Thieman serves as a Research Fellow in the Educator Preparation and Leadership Department within the College of Education at the University of Missouri - St. Louis (UMSL).
Her educational background includes a Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning Processes and an Ed.S. in Leadership, both earned at UMSL.
Research interests focus on:
- Teacher development and instructional coaching for equitable and culturally responsive pedagogy
- Linguistically relevant teaching strategies for multilingual language learners (MLLs)
- Program development across K-12 and post-secondary educational contexts
- Educational policy analysis affecting MLL populations
Her scholarly work aims to bridge theory and practice in supporting educators and administrators to implement inclusive practices for linguistically diverse students through evidence-based coaching models and policy-responsive curriculum design.
