David Wells Agler

David Wells Agler is an Associate Teaching Professor of Philosophy and TLT Coordinator at Pennsylvania State University's Department of Philosophy. He holds a B.A. in Philosophy & English (IUPUI, 2004), M.A. in American Philosophy (IUPUI, 2010), and Ph.D. in Philosophy (Penn State, 2012).

His research focuses on Classical American Philosophy (especially Charles S. Peirce), Philosophy of Language, Analytic Philosophy, Metaphysics, and Symbolic Logic. His work bridges historical philosophical analysis with contemporary epistemological questions, examining how philosophical frameworks can address modern technological and ethical challenges.

Agler's publications demonstrate strong interdisciplinary connections between philosophy, logic, and ethics, with recent articles examining epistemological frameworks through historical and contemporary lenses. Notable trends include analyses of belief formation systems and linguistic boundary cases.
