His educational background includes a comprehensive art education from California State University – Fullerton, where he earned three degrees: MFA in Design, MA in Art, and BA in Art.

Pounds maintains an active professional practice through 'David Pounds Design,' serving major clients such as Disney, Mitsubishi Motors, Mazda Motors, and ICN Pharmaceuticals. His community involvement includes 18 years of children's ministry work at Voyagers Bible Church and Calvary Community Church.
Outside his academic and professional commitments, he enjoys woodworking, sailing, basketball, and family time with his wife Kookie and three children.
