Dr. David Perrin is Associate Professor and Deputy Head of Division at the University of Chester, where he leads the Work Based & Integrative Studies (WBIS) framework serving nearly 1,000 students. Working part-time, he specializes in work-based learning and recognition of prior learning.
With a PhD in political theory from the University of Liverpool, Perrin researches negotiated learning frameworks, higher education policy, and political-economic theory. He previously directed the Centre for Work Related Studies and has consulted for UK government agencies including the Cabinet Office and Department of Work and Pensions.
Perrin's publications examine apprenticeship models, work-integrated learning, and higher education delivery innovations. He currently serves as Founding Director and Co-Chair of the Institute of Professional Development.
