Dr. David Montgomery serves as Director of The Program in Educational Theatre and Clinical Associate Professor at New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development. A specialist in drama education, theatre for young audiences, and integrated arts, he teaches foundational courses and leads innovative programs. His work bridges performance, education, and social action, with notable projects like the New Play for Young Audiences (NPYA) series at the Provincetown Playhouse and the Looking for Shakespeare Program.
His research focuses on applied theatre practices, artistic citizenship, and curriculum development. He has directed NYU study abroad programs in multiple countries and collaborates with organizations like Outlaws and Justice to infuse drama into school curricula.
