David Loberg Code is Professor and Head of Music Research and Cultural Studies at Western Michigan University's Irving S. Gilmore School of Music. He holds a PhD from University of Maryland and MM/BM degrees from University of Illinois.
Research explores computer-mediated live performance, non-standard tuning systems, and Norwegian folk traditions. Developed the Groven Piano (36-tone interactive network) and founded KLOrk (Kalamazoo Laptop Orchestra).
Publications appear in Perspectives of New Music, Computer Music Journal, and Studio Musicologica Norvegica. Fulbright Scholar to Norway specializing in folk music performance and interdisciplinary applications of technology in music.
