David K. Stein

Dr. David K. Stein is a Professor in the Department of Medicine (Infectious Diseases) at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and serves as Director of Adult HIV Research at Jacobi Medical Center. He specializes in HIV treatment, gene therapy, and opportunistic infections. His research includes groundbreaking work on gene editing for HIV, published in the New England Journal of Medicine (2014). Dr. Stein is a Principal Investigator for the Mycoses Study Group and oversees research sites for the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG) and the Community Programs for Clinical Research on AIDS (CPCRA).

He actively contributes to medical education, training infectious disease fellows, housestaff, and medical students at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
