David Hewson is Professor of Health and Ageing at the University of Bedfordshire's Institute for Health Research within the School of Society, Community and Health. His research focuses on functional geriatric screening, aging in migrant populations, and physical activity interventions.
Research Themes: Functional Geriatric Screening (sarcopenia and frailty detection tools), Ageing in Older Migrants (ethnic-specific screening tools), and Exercise is Medicine (physical activity interventions for dementia and frailty).
Current research includes Exercise on Prescription for Frail Older People, Golf and Health interventions, and international collaborations with Indian research institutes on geriatric screening systems.
