David Hair serves as an Assistant Professor of Spanish in the Department of Modern Languages at the University of North Georgia (UNG), where he has taught since fall 2016. He concurrently directs the UNG in Spain study abroad program, leading academic initiatives at the Dahlonega campus.
His research centers on Sociolinguistics, the History of Romance Languages (specializing in Spanish and French evolution), and Third Language Acquisition methodologies. He teaches diverse courses from introductory Spanish/French to advanced seminars including History of the Spanish Language (SPAN 4430) and Spanish Conversation (SPAN 3310), emphasizing practical linguistic application.
As Director of UNG in Spain, he develops curriculum for SPAN 4990 Special Topics, using the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage as an immersive framework for cultural and linguistic exploration, integrating experiential learning with academic rigor.
