David Gill

Dr. David Gill is the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs and Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at Memorial University of Newfoundland. He previously served as a teacher and specialist in technology education, learning resources, e-learning, science, and social studies for the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District. His career highlights include developing cross-curricular technology integration projects at provincial, national, and international levels, earning national recognition such as the Prime Minister’s Awards for Teaching Excellence (2010-11) and the NLTA Barnes Award for professional development innovation.

His research focuses on the intersection of pedagogy and technology integration, with grants from Memorial University’s Office of Public Engagement, the Faculty of Education, and the NLTA supporting investigations into technology’s impact on teacher training and student outcomes. He has contributed to curriculum redevelopment for Newfoundland and Labrador’s Department of Education and received the CATE Dissertation Award for work on technology education marginalization.

Dr. Gill’s professional service includes leadership in teacher training, grant-funded research, and advocacy for equitable education practices. His interests extend to fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills through technology-driven pedagogy.
