David Fennessy is a Lecturer in Composition whose works have been performed internationally by renowned ensembles such as the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble Modern, London Sinfonietta, and the RTE National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland. He holds Master’s degrees from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) and the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst (HfMDK) in Frankfurt.
- Awards: Paul Hamlyn Foundation Award (2010), Vital Spark Award (2010)
- Residencies/Fellowships: Fellow of the Akademie Schloss Solitude (2010–2012), International Creator Resident at Tokyo Wonder Site (2008)
Fennessy’s research outputs include the music theatre work Pass the Spoon (funded by the Vital Spark Award) and Thirteen Factories. His compositions are published by Universal Edition, Vienna.
