Dr. David A. Escobar Arcay serves as Associate Professor of Theological Studies and Director of the Global Leadership Program and Latino Church Studies at Palm Beach Atlantic University's School of Ministry. His academic appointment spans multiple sub-departments including Theological Studies, Organizational Leadership, Ministry Leadership Studies, and English.
Dr. Escobar Arcay's research interests encompass dogmatic and constructive theology, trinitarian theology, pneumatologies, theological interpretation of Scripture, intellectual and moral virtues, Reformation and Post-Reformation theology, modern Protestant theology, Christian education, theological formation of pastor-theologians, Christian intellectual tradition, and the relationship between theology and culture/social sciences. His scholarly work demonstrates deep engagement with both historical theological traditions and contemporary applications.
His publications include numerous book reviews, several articles, and two books focused on educational change. Dr. Escobar Arcay has lectured extensively across the United States, South Africa, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America, including recent engagements in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
With extensive experience in diverse educational settings as an ESL & bilingual educator, U.S. citizenship instructor, and public-school teacher and principal, Dr. Escobar Arcay brings practical educational expertise to his theological scholarship. He has served churches in multiple capacities including Sunday school teacher, Bible institute instructor, pastor of education, theologian-in-residence, and educational consultant.
