Jonathan Morgan

Dr. Jonathan Morgan is a Professor of Theology and Ministry at Indiana Wesleyan University. As an ordained minister in the Wesleyan Church and historical theologian, his work focuses on equipping future pastors through engagement with Christian tradition. He holds a PhD in Historical Theology from Marquette University (2013), an MA in Historical and Systematic Theology from Wesley Biblical Seminary (2003), and a BS in Pastoral Ministry from Oklahoma Wesleyan University (2000).

His research interests include systematic theology, the doctrine of holiness, Christology, pneumatology, and the Christian perspective on human sexuality and the body. He actively contributes to theological scholarship through journal articles and conference presentations, emphasizing the integration of theological rigor with pastoral practice.

Personal interests include family life with his wife Christy and children Caleb and Phoebe, football, fitness, and coffee-fueled study sessions with students. His academic advising and mentorship focus on training Wesleyan pastors to ground their ministry in historic Christian thought.
