David E Wazer

David E. Wazer, M.D., is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Brown University. He serves as radiation oncologist-in-chief at Rhode Island Hospital, the Miriam Hospital, Newport Hospital, and Women and Infants Hospital, and Director of the Lifespan Cancer Institute. Board-certified in therapeutic radiology, he earned his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and completed clinical training at Brown University and Tufts University.

Dr. Wazer's research focuses on advancing radiation oncology through:

• Novel applications of image-guided radiation therapy, proton beam radiotherapy, and brachytherapy
• Clinical trials for breast, skin, gastrointestinal, and lung cancers
• Toxicity and cost-effectiveness analysis of partial breast irradiation
• Global oncology initiatives in developing nations

His publication portfolio demonstrates extensive work in breast cancer radiotherapy optimization, stereotactic techniques for metastases, and brachytherapy innovations. Research consistently addresses treatment efficacy, toxicity reduction, and precision targeting.
