Dr David Creasey holds a dual role at the University of the West of England, Bristol, serving as both a Senior Lecturer in Music Technology and a Senior Engineer in IT Services. He possesses a DPhil, PGCertHE (Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education), BEng(Hons), and FHEA (Fellow of the Higher Education Academy) qualifications.
His primary research and expertise focus on audio processes, with specialization in musical analysis, modification, synthesis, and control systems. With over twenty-five years of experience creating electronic circuits and software for audio applications, he has developed considerable expertise across multiple programming languages and environments.
Dr Creasey is the author of the comprehensive textbook Audio Processes: Musical Analysis, Modification, Synthesis, and Control published by Routledge in 2016, which serves as a practical guide for music technology students and professionals. The book covers fundamental concepts through to sophisticated audio effects and synthesizers, supported extensively with block diagrams, algorithms, and audio plots.
His teaching experience spans more than a decade, focusing on audio process design and implementation. Prior to his academic career, he worked as a software developer, which has informed his practical approach to audio engineering education.
