David Colley is a Senior Lecturer and Employability Lead at the Manchester Metropolitan University Business School, specializing in branding, advertising, and strategic marketing. He teaches modules such as Advertising and Brands, Brand Management, and International Brand Strategy at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Before joining Manchester Met in 2019, he held part-time lecturer roles at the University of Huddersfield (2009–2018) and Kirklees College (2018–2020), focusing on marketing modules. His career history includes roles as Marketing Manager at the University of Huddersfield Business School (2004–2017) and Print and Publicity Manager at the University of Huddersfield Students’ Union (1999–2004).
Research interests include the intersection of branding and cultural phenomena, notably craft beer’s creative identity and cinema culture. He actively contributes to academic conferences, such as presenting at the 2022 Academy of Marketing Conference.
