David Clark is Professor Emeritus at SUNY New Paltz's Department of Mathematics in the School of Science and Engineering. His career includes positions as Assistant Professor at Georgia Tech (1969), Full Professor at SUNY New Paltz (1980), Chair of Mathematics and CS (1985), and Associate Dean of Science & Engineering (2001). He received the Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship (1977) and SUNY Distinguished Professorship (2003).
His research focuses on universal algebra, mathematical logic, and topological representations. Teaching interests include guided inquiry learning for geometry, graph theory, and abstract algebra. Dr. Clark co-founded the Journal of Inquiry-Based Learning in Mathematics and retired in 2013 to pursue independent research.
