David C. Hofmann is an Associate Professor of Sociology and Director of the Criminology and Criminal Justice Program at the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton Campus. He serves as a nationally-recognized expert on far-right extremism and violence with extensive government-funded research collaborations.
His research focuses on:

Dr. Hofmann co-leads the multi-year government-funded Network for Research on Hateful Conduct and Right-Wing Extremism in the Canadian Armed Forces, examining ideological penetration within military institutions. His methodological expertise in social network analysis informs studies of extremist recruitment and organizational resilience.
As a research fellow at both the Gregg Centre for the Study of War and Society and the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research, he bridges criminology with historical conflict studies and gender-based violence prevention frameworks.
