David C. Garza is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Samford University's Howard College of Arts and Sciences. A passionate educator, he has taught at Samford since 1998, offering courses in General, Organic and Biological Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Quantitative Chemical Analysis, and Scientific Inquiry.
His research focuses on organometallic chemistry and chemical bonding, as evidenced by his 1998 publication in Organometallics. Garza emphasizes bridging theoretical concepts with practical laboratory applications, encouraging students to develop predictive analytical skills.
Outside academia, Garza is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys camping, hiking, backpacking, and canoeing. He earned a BS from Georgia Institute of Technology and a PhD from the University of South Carolina.
