David Balaam

David Balaam is an Associate Tutor in the School of Engineering, Mathematics and Physics at the University of East Anglia (UEA), part of the Faculty of Science. He is pursuing a PhD titled 'Development and Optimisation of Micro-Wind Turbines to Capture the Turbulent and Gusting Wind Resource in Domestic Settings.' His research focuses on renewable energy systems, particularly aerofoil and turbulence modeling in wind turbine applications.

• MSc in Energy Engineering with Environmental Management (UEA)
• Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with Physics (Open University)

Research interests include fluid dynamics, sustainable energy technologies, and optimizing wind energy solutions for domestic environments. Prior to academia, he accumulated 20 years of professional experience in supply-chain logistics, vocational training, and personnel management.
