David Alexander Forsyth

David Alexander Forsyth is the Fulton Watson Copp Chair and a Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He holds dual appointments in the Siebel School of Computing and Data Science and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research focuses on computer vision, object recognition, and graphics, with recent work emphasizing virtual try-on systems, diffusion models for rendering, and underwater geolocalization. He leads the Information Trust Institute and has received notable awards, including the Amazon Research Award (2021) and the Machine Learning Research Award (2018).
