David Albert Jones

Professor David Albert Jones is a prominent academic in bioethics, currently serving as Professor and Research Fellow in Bioethics at St Mary’s University. He co-founded the Centre for Bioethics and Emerging Technologies (2008) and later became Director of the Anscombe Bioethics Centre (2010–present), the Catholic Church’s national bioethics research hub. He holds concurrent roles as Vice-chair of the Ministry of Defence Research Ethics Committee and a Research Fellow at Blackfriars Hall, Oxford University.

His educational background includes degrees in Natural Sciences and Philosophy from the University of Cambridge (1984–1987) and Theology from the University of Oxford (1992–2000). His research focuses on ethical issues in end-of-life care, embryo ethics, and the intersection of religion with medical practice.
