Daryl Perrins is a Senior Lecturer in Film Studies at Royal Holloway, University of London, affiliated with the Faculty of Business and Creative Industries. He holds a PhD in Film and Television (2014-2024) and completed a BA (Hons) in Combined Studies with a Diploma in General Studies. His research focuses on Welsh working-class representation in film/TV, Welsh language dynamics in media, and British music culture. Notable works include analyses of Welsh cinema's bilingual challenges and a podcast tribute to Mark E Smith of The Fall.
Teaching roles include leading BA Cinema and modules such as Film History, Global Cinema, and Cult Cinema & Fandom. His recent PhD thesis explores Welsh working-class representation in film/TV, currently under consideration for publication by University of Wales Press.
Research outputs (2014-2024) span 9 publications, including peer-reviewed chapters on Welsh stereotypes in media and a radio tribute to Mark E Smith. He has presented at academic conferences and appeared as an expert on BBC's Bargain Hunt (2018).
