Dr. Darren Griffith is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). He holds a BSc (2000) and PhD (2004) in Medicinal Chemistry from University College Dublin and RCSI, respectively. His career includes postdoctoral research at Dublin City University (2004–2005) and RCSI (2006–2010), before becoming a Lecturer (2010) and Senior Lecturer (2018). His research focuses on medicinal inorganic chemistry, particularly metal-based complexes for anticancer therapies, enzyme inhibition, antibacterial agents, and antileishmanial treatments.
Grants include SFI-funded projects on gallium formulations (2025), platinum-PROTACs (2022–2027), and targeted cancer therapies.
