About
Dr. Darian Lockett is a Professor of New Testament at the Talbot School of Theology, Biola University. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of St. Andrews, an M.Div. from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a B.A. from the University of Kansas. He currently serves as Co-chair of the Core Curriculum Committee at Talbot School of Theology. His research focuses on the Catholic Epistles (James, Peter, John, Jude), biblical theology, hermeneutics, and canon formation. Lockett emphasizes reading these epistles as a unified canonical collection, arguing for their interconnectedness and theological coherence. He has authored numerous books, including Letters for the Church (2021) and Understanding Biblical Theology (2012), and contributed to journals like Tyndale Bulletin and Neotestamentica. His work bridges historical-critical analysis with canonical interpretation, advocating for the early church’s valuation of these letters in defending orthodoxy and shaping Christian practice. Lockett’s interdisciplinary approach integrates social-scientific analysis, patristic evidence, and redemptive-historical perspectives, enriching both academic and pastoral contexts.
