Danuta Fjellestad

Danuta Fjellestad is a Professor of American Literature and Culture at Uppsala University's Department of English, holding this Chair Professorship since 2007. Previously, she served as Full Professor of American and Postcolonial Studies at Blekinge Institute of Technology (1998-2007) and Associate Professor at Göteborg University (1995-1998). She maintains active international affiliations as faculty member of Dartmouth College's Futures of American Studies Institute and has held visiting positions at Columbia University, University of Chicago, and others.

Her research spans 20th-21st century American fiction, visual culture, and literary theory, with particular focus on postmodern/post-postmodern texts, word-image interactions, ethnic studies, and new media.
