Danny Soon is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School and holds key leadership roles in Singapore's clinical research ecosystem. He serves as the inaugural Chief Executive Officer of the Consortium for Clinical Research and Innovation, Singapore (CRIS), where he focuses on national translational research programs to enhance healthcare and economic impact. Concurrently, he is the Executive Director of the Singapore Clinical Research Institute (SCRI), supporting clinical trials, research networks, and talent development. His career spans 15 years at Eli Lilly and Company, where he led the Lilly-NUS Centre for Clinical Pharmacology, and leadership roles at A*STAR's Biomedical Research Council (BMRC) and the Advanced Cell Therapy and Research Institute, Singapore.
His expertise lies in clinical trials, drug development, and translational research, with a strong focus on diabetes therapeutics, neuroscience, precision medicine, and MedTech innovation. At BMRC, he spearheaded programs in biomanufacturing and biotherapeutics development, while also founding the Experimental Biotherapeutics Centre and leading the Singapore Biodesign initiative to commercialize MedTech solutions.
