Danny Fisher-Lochhead is an Instructor of Saxophone at the University of Maine's School of Performing Arts. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and has been actively performing and composing in the jazz and experimental music scenes since relocating to Maine in 2015. His work blends composition, improvisation, and large ensemble direction, often exploring avant-garde techniques and textural experimentation.
Research interests include jazz composition, experimental music structures, and collaborative improvisation. He has performed with ensembles like Le Sorciers Perdus and the Soulbenders, and his discography spans over a decade, featuring releases like World of Difference (2025) and Tools Of The Abstract (2014). His music frequently incorporates multi-instrumental collaboration and explores rhythmic and harmonic complexity.
Notable performances include appearances at the Deer Isle Jazz Festival, Maine International Film Festival, and venues across coastal Maine. He co-founded Fishkill Records with Ross Gallagher, releasing works by himself and collaborators.
