Andrew Rathbun is a Professor and Head of Jazz Studies at the Irving S. Gilmore School of Music, Western Michigan University. His roles include teaching Saxophone, Jazz Arranging, and Jazz Style and Analysis. A renowned saxophonist and composer, he holds a D.M.A. from Manhattan School of Music and a M.M. from New England Conservatory, complemented by a B.A. from Queen's University.
His research focuses on rhythmic complexity, metric experimentation, and cross-genre collaborations.
