Dr. Danielle Lyssimachou is a Principal Lecturer (Teaching) in the Department of Finance at Imperial College Business School, where she also served as Admissions Tutor for the BSc Economics, Finance and Data Science (2023-24). Previously, she held leadership roles including Academic Director of the BSc Accounting & Finance at Bayes Business School (2013-2023) and Academic Director of the BSc International Business, Finance and Economics at Alliance Manchester Business School (2022-2023). Her academic journey includes positions as Associate Professor of Accounting at Bayes (2013–2023), Assistant Professor (2008–2013) and Marie Curie Fellow (2005–2008) at Manchester. She also served as a visiting professor at EDHEC Business School (2009–2013).
Dr. Lyssimachou holds a PhD in Accounting and Finance from the University of Manchester and a Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. She completed the International Teachers Programme at HEC Paris. Her research appears in journals like The Accounting Review and Abacus. She is renowned for innovative teaching methods, earning multiple teaching excellence awards, and has delivered executive education programs for organizations such as BP, McDonald’s, and Inmarsat.
Her academic leadership spans over a decade, focusing on curriculum redesign, student engagement, and program excellence. She has spearheaded initiatives to enhance undergraduate accounting education, notably restructuring modules at Bayes Business School. As a thought leader in pedagogy, she has conducted workshops on student engagement and personalized learning globally, including in Canada, Sweden, and France.
