Danielle Beatty serves as an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), where her research examines psychological and social mechanisms driving racial/ethnic disparities in cardiovascular disease risk through ecological momentary assessment and self-report methodologies.
Her work spans Health Psychology, Health Disparities, Cardiovascular Disease, Racial and Ethnic Disparities, Behavioral Medicine, and Social Psychology. She has been recognized as a leading expert through invitations to speak at the 2012 American Psychosomatic Society Meeting (Health Disparities Symposium: 'Unfairness, Socioeconomic Status and Health') and the Society of Behavioral Medicine annual meeting (panel discussant on postdoctoral fellowships in behavioral medicine).
Dr. Beatty actively mentors a Meyerhoff graduate scholar and a MARC undergraduate scholar while advancing her independent research program, recently submitting her first National Institute on Aging (NIA) grant application as Principal Investigator to investigate health inequities.
