Daniela C. A. Pigosso

Daniela C. A. Pigosso is a Professor of Design for Absolute Sustainability at DTU Construct, Technical University of Denmark (DTU), and Principal Investigator of the ERC Consolidator project (REBOUNDLESS). She leads research in Sustainable Design, Rebound Effects, and Circular Economy, collaborating closely with industry. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing environmental and societal impact.

She holds academic positions in DTU’s Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering and serves on advisory boards, including the Design Society and Biomimicry Institute. Her research spans over 20 international projects, yielding high-impact publications and industrial applications.

Key research interests include Product-Service Systems, Manufacturing Sustainability, and Policy Design for Circular Economy. She has received prestigious awards, such as the 2024 Grundfos Prize and ACPN Medal for Young Researcher (2021). Her team focuses on preventing rebound effects and advancing absolute sustainability through innovative methodologies.

Current projects include PhD supervision on rebound effect mechanisms, circular economy strategies, and carbon emission reduction. She also leads the development of decision-support tools for sustainability trade-offs and circularity assessment frameworks.
