Daniel Rowe

Dr. Daniel Rowe is the Director of Academic Programmes at the Rothermere American Institute and an Associate Member of the History Faculty at the University of Oxford. He is affiliated with St Catherine's College. His research focuses on modern American capitalism, U.S. state policy, industrial decline in the Rustbelt, and the socio-economic impacts of Cold War-era policies. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses on U.S. and global history, including topics like the New Deal, Cold War dynamics, and post-industrial urban transformation.

Rowe's forthcoming monograph, State of Development: Preserving the American Economic Century in an Era of Anxious Capitalism, examines responses to economic crises in the late 20th century. His next project explores the socio-economic effects of casino and university expansions in Rust Belt cities. He is a core member of the Oxford Centre for Research In United States History (OxCRUSH).
