About
Daniel Roth, born in 1969, has been a Professor of Painting at the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe (HfG Karlsruhe) since 2007. Based in Karlsruhe, his work explores the interplay between interior and exterior spaces, particularly through installations and films that interrogate institutional architectures and their embedded narratives.
Roth's practice focuses on visual arts, with an emphasis on conceptual and installation art. His recent projects include Der Schrank des Austerlitz (0.8), which juxtaposes the Justiz Palast in Brussels with fragmented objects from its environment, and Le fantôme de la salle de la cour d'assis (1.34), a film observing courtroom spaces at the threshold of psychological darkness.
