Daniel Heath Justice is a Professor of Critical Indigenous Studies and English at the University of British Columbia, where he is also a Distinguished University Scholar. His research spans Indigenous literary history, nationalism, kinship, sexuality, and intellectual production, with additional interests in animal studies and speculative fiction.

- B.A. from University of Northern Colorado
- M.A. and Ph.D. from University of Nebraska-Lincoln
He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (Academy of the Arts and Humanities) and an Officer of the Order of Canada. During 2023-2024, he holds a Harvard College Visiting Professorship of Ethnicity, Indigeneity, and Migration. His recent co-edited work, Allotment Stories: Indigenous Responses to Land Privatization (2022), explores Indigenous land relations under settler colonialism.
