Dr. Daniel Erdsiek is a Senior Researcher and Head of Research in the Digital Economy department at ZEW - Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research since June 2011. He holds a doctorate in economics from Heidelberg University (2016) and studied economics at the University of Mannheim with a focus on econometrics and labor economics.

His research examines how companies drive digital transformation and its impacts on productivity, innovation, and work organization. He leads the quarterly Information Economy Business Survey, collecting data from German firms on digital challenges for both academic research and policy advising to ministries like BMBF and BMWK. Using survey experiments, he analyzes corporate decision-making on digital technologies and flexible work structures. He also collaborates with Prof. Dr. Irene Bertschek on initiatives for the Expert Commission for Research and Innovation (EFI).
