Daniel Armenia

Dr. Daniel Armenia is an Associate Professor of Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology at the University of Rome Saint Camillus International University of Health Sciences. He holds a degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology from the University of Bologna and a PhD in Medical Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Rome Tor Vergata. His research focuses on virology, particularly HIV, hepatitis viruses (HBV/HCV), and mechanisms of antiviral drug resistance. He has conducted studies on viral evolution, resistance mutations, and treatment optimization in diverse patient populations, including pediatric and treatment-experienced individuals. His work spans Italy and Cameroon, addressing challenges in resource-limited settings. Dr. Armenia has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and contributed to international conferences, emphasizing translational research and clinical outcomes.

His research also evaluates viral tropism, genotypic/phenotypic resistance analysis, and the application of next-generation sequencing in clinical virology.

Publications: His recent work includes studies on HIV DNA load correlations with resistance, viral reservoirs under long-acting therapies, and pediatric dolutegravir efficacy. He has contributed to understanding resistance mutations in integrase inhibitors and their clinical implications.
