Dan McQuillan

Dan McQuillan is Lecturer in Creative and Social Computing at Goldsmiths, University of London, with a Ph.D. in Experimental Particle Physics. His interdisciplinary career includes disability advocacy work, digital roles at Amnesty International and NHS, and founding social innovation camps internationally. Research focuses on:

• Participatory environmental monitoring
• Citizen science methodologies
• Technology policy critique

Author of Resisting AI: An Anti-fascist Approach to Artificial Intelligence, he serves as Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Technology and Society. His work critically examines power structures in AI systems and proposes decomputing alternatives. Provided evidence to UK House of Lords on large language model risks.
