Daisy Ames is an Assistant Professor at The Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. She is the founding principal of Studio Ames LLC, an architectural design and research office based in New York City, focusing on the intersection of art and architecture to explore perception-driven spatial experiences.

Her research examines the spatial implications of social, economic, and political shifts in urban environments, analyzing how these forces reshape contemporary models of living. Her work has been featured in prestigious venues such as the Venice Architecture Biennale, Storefront for Art and Architecture, and Sir John Soane’s Museum, as well as publications like See/Saw, Scroope, and Log.
Ames has taught at Rice School of Architecture, Yale School of Architecture, Pratt Institute GAUD, and currently leads a studio at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP), where she co-coordinated the GSAPP Housing Lab (2019–2020). Her practice and pedagogy emphasize interdisciplinary inquiry and civic engagement.
