Crystal Stokes

Dr. Crystal Stokes serves as Assistant Professor of Nursing and Program Coordinator for the MSN Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - Primary Care (PNP-PC) program at Houston Christian University's Linda R. Dunham School of Nursing. She teaches critical courses including Advanced Diagnostics and Skills (NURS 5306), FNP Pediatric Health (NURS 5336), and PNP Pediatric Health I/II (NURS 5407/5408), alongside Advanced Practicum (NURS 5420).

Her educational foundation includes a DNP from the University of South Alabama (2017), MSN from Northwestern State University of Louisiana (2009), and BSN from the University of Louisiana at Monroe (2006). Dr. Stokes' research centers on pediatric primary care with specialized focus on childhood obesity, extending into pediatric emergency medicine and urgent care contexts through her clinical practice.

Professionally affiliated with Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society and the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Associates and Practitioners, she implements a Christ-centered philosophy in mentoring future nursing professionals. Her clinical expertise spans rural health settings, well-child care/immunizations, child protection services, and school-based health programs, directly informing her academic leadership in the PNP-PC program.
