Dr. Crystal Murdock is an Assistant Professor at National Louis University's College of Psychology and Behavioral Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Adler University and an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. Her teaching focuses on group counseling theories, practicum, and internship supervision. She previously served full-time at Bradley University and as adjunct faculty at Adler University.
Her research emphasizes factors influencing Black women's success in post-secondary education, identity reclamation, and clinical implications of educational microaggressions. Clinically, she operates a private practice serving LGBT communities using a Black Feminist framework combining Psychodynamic, CBT, and Person-Centered approaches.
Murdock leads in professional organizations: Treasurer of the Illinois Mental Health Counselors Association, former NW Chapter President/Secretary of ICA, and ICA Conference Proposal Reviewer. She maintains licensure as a Clinical Professional Counselor.
