Craig Paré

Craig Paré serves as Professor of Music at DePauw University's School of Music, where he has held faculty appointments since 1993. He conducts the University Band and Symphonic Band while teaching conducting courses and developing specialized curricula like 'Thinking, Listening, Creating with Music' for College of Liberal Arts students.

His academic preparation includes:

• Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Barrington College
• Master of Music in Percussion Performance from Florida State University
• Doctor of Musical Arts in Wind Conducting from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music

Dr. Paré's professional focus centers on Wind Band Conducting and Music Education, with significant contributions to Contemporary Wind Literature through recordings and collaborations. His work emphasizes performance practice, pedagogical innovation in music appreciation, and Percussion Performance techniques. Under his leadership, ensembles have premiered works by major contemporary composers, advancing the wind band repertoire.
