About
Craig Guilbault is Professor and Department Chair of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee's College of Letters & Science. His research focuses on geometric topology, geometric group theory, and the topological properties of manifolds and group boundaries. He has supervised numerous PhD students and serves as editor for Topology Proceedings.
Dr. Guilbault has secured substantial research funding including multiple NSF grants and Simons Foundation Collaboration Grants. His work examines boundaries of semidirect products, coarse Z-boundaries, compressible spaces, and non-uniqueness in topological sums. Recent investigations explore geometric group actions and manifold compactifications.
He organizes the annual Workshop in Geometric Topology and serves on the steering committee for the Spring Topology and Dynamics Conference. His educational activities include developing axiomatic approaches to real number systems and topology curriculum.
