Cory Pedersen

Cory Pedersen is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University's College of Arts. Since 2005, she has taught courses such as Psychology 3010 (Human Sexuality) and developed specialized curricula in sexology. She founded the Observations and Research in Gender and Sexuality Matters Lab (commonly known as the Orgasm Research Lab) in 2011, fostering student research opportunities.

Her research focuses on human sexuality, gender norms and roles, sexual health education, developmental psychopathology, and the psychology of atypical sexual interests. She explores intersections of gender, sexual orientation, and body perception through experimental and mixed-methods studies.

Cory's recent publications examine topics like sexual scripts, genital appearance biases, and the impact of gender norms on sexual behaviors. Her work often involves collaborative student projects, emphasizing real-world applications in sexual health and gender studies.

She supervises honors students in the Department of Psychology, guiding research on sexual assault, gender roles, and intimacy dynamics. Her lab has produced numerous conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications.

The Orgasm Research Lab, which she founded, investigates sexuality-related phenomena and provides students with hands-on experience in psychological research methodologies.
